What to Expect

During the short trip from Koh Lanta to the dive sites on our speed boats, you’ll have a chance to get familiar with how scuba diving equipment works, taking your first breaths from a scuba tank with your instructor.

Once we arrive at the dive site, you and your instructor enter the water in a shallow area of the reef, where you can first of all get comfortable on the surface and practice breathing from the scuba tank.

Discover Scuba Diving on Koh Lanta with Dive & Relax

You will practise a few easy skills with your instructor on the surface, before descending into very shallow water to continue with some more simple underwater skills such as how to clear water from your mask.

The Discover Scuba Diving practice skills are also some of the skills which you learn on the 3 day Open Water Diver course and will give you an introduction on what to expect while learning to scuba dive. If you can complete the Discover Scuba Diving skills, you can easily take the 3 day Open Water Diver course.

After you have practised these basic skills and your instructor is happy that you are comfortable in the water, your instructor will then lead you on two unforgettable dives up to an hour long, to a maximum of 12 m.

What can I see during Discover Scuba Diving on Koh Lanta?

As the first dive progresses, you will start to become comfortable with using the scuba equipment, the feeling of breathing underwater, the weightlessness, and the wonderful marine life on the extensive coral reefs around Koh Lanta.

At the end of the first dive, you will return to the surface with your instructor and head back to the boat where we will serve a delicious and healthy Thai food lunch. This is time to relax, use the toilet, get hydrated with the unlimited soft drinks on board, and receive the briefing for the second dive.

After lunch, we will move the boat to the second dive site where you and your instructor will return to the amazing underwater world for a second dive.

Once back on the boat, we return to Koh Lanta, serving fresh fruit on the trip back to dry land, where you can log your dives with your instructor before returning to your resort.
