Diving with Kids on Koh Lanta

Diving with kids on Koh Lanta allows children aged 8 and 9 to go diving with the Bubblemaker program.

The Bubblemaker program is conducted at a swimming pool, with a maximum of two children with each professional instructor.

During the session, kids will get used to the scuba equipment, learning how to assemble the gear, breathing underwater, controlling their buoyancy and having lots of fun blowing bubbles.

Diving for kids on Lanta is a fantastic introduction to scuba diving for younger divers aged 8 or 9, keeping them excited about scuba diving until they are old enough to enrol in the Open Water Diver course at age 10.

Learning Important Skills

Kids will learn some of the important scuba skills such as mask clearing, regulator clearing and recovery, buoyancy, the important breathing rules, and how to communicate with underwater signals.

Diving with Kids Aged 10+ on Koh Lanta

Parents and older kids can also join the bubblemaker fun with a Discover Scuba Diving introduction session in the pool where they can also learn the same important scuba diving skills as the bubblemakers.

Diving for kids on Lanta is one of the most exciting things your children will do on their holiday, getting them interested in the underwater world, keeping them away from their smartphones for a couple of hours!

Participants should be able to swim in water too deep to stand up in, but they don't have to be super swimmers.

Speedboat Dive Trips

If you really love learning the scuba skills in the swimming pool, you can also book a Discover Scuba Diving day trip on one of our speed boats to real dive sites and coral reefs, such as Koh Haa, Koh Bida, or Koh Rok! (age 10+)

After experiencing the wonderful underwater world at the dive sites around Koh Lanta with Discover Scuba Diving, the next step is to take the 3.5 day Open Water Diver course and gain an internationally recognised scuba diving certification (age 10+).

Dive trips & Scuba Courses on Koh Lanta

Whilst scuba diving is a very safe activity, it is important to know that you are fit to dive and that you do not have any fitness or medical conditions that could increase your risk of an accident underwater.

If you answer 'yes' to any of the medical questions, please print the entire form and take to your family doctor who will assess your fitness to dive. Your doctor will complete page 3, which we must see before you can start diving.
